Sounds like a weird combination I know, but this is my favorite food and drink. I love eggplant, its nutritious and you can really do so much with it. My favorite Italian restaurant makes an excellent eggplant spaghetti meal that is to die for. The one down side to eggplant is that it can be very difficult to cook correctly. If cooked wrong, it will turn out bitter and mushy. To correctly cook it you need to be sure to salt and dry it first to draw out all the bitterness and keep the firmness in tact.

I have a small family, and when I was growing up I often wondered if I was missing out. Many of my friends families were very large and I always thought that must add extra fun and excitement to family get togethers. As I grew older, I found that my small family – myself my mom and my brother were perfect and I would never ask for anything more. Having a small family really allows you to be there whenever anyone needs you, to check up on each other often and keep in touch easier. It is much easier to call two people and tell them about your week than it is to call 4!

I bet you read that and automatically assume I am into the goth scene or an emo kid, right? Wrong! I highly suggest adding more black to your wardrobe because it fits almost any occasion. Black also matches just about any other color clothing you may have – so it is easier to get dressed quickly without having to decide what matches best with your favorite shirt. Another reason why I love black is because it is slimming, and when you feel slimmed down and confident, you will naturally look better and appeal to others. So next time you are out shopping, if you are stuck deciding between the colored shirt and the black one – choose the black! You will be grateful you did when you discover the more options you have when wearing it.

I love Yahoo email, they allow you to choose from various extensions when applying, making it easier to get the address you want. Yahoo mail also works directly with Yahoo messenger, so you can see whenever your friends are online – right from your inbox! Plus, having a Yahoo email address allows you to access their other great services like their online radio, join groups and more. I feel that the services gained from using Yahoo far outweigh the benefits of Gmail or other popular service providers. I have used Gmail in the past, and recently I (and others) have began to notice that they will require you to verify your account via cell phone to set up or continue your service. What an invasion of privacy! Google is just getting too big for its britches, go with someone like Yahoo where you will get more and keep your private information private.

If I ever had the chance to have a fantasy lunch with any three people, I would probably pick Seth Green, Joss Whedon, and Joel McHale. I think it would be absolutely hilarious. I love Seth and Joel’s smart-alec senses of humor, and I think they both would prove to be intelligent and charming. Joss, I’m not so sure what his personal sense of humor is, because I’ve never seen him per se, but I love what he brings to his characters and writing. They are all kind of connected to begin with, and I think an afternoon in their company would be awesome.

Having been born and raised mostly in New England (and New York), it was kind of a culture shock to move to the Midwest in my 20s. I love it here, and enjoy some of the more local dishes, but there are days when I would give almost anything for a nice calzone or real Buffalo wings, New York style. I miss the little mom and pop Italian restaurants my grandmother and I would hunt out when I was a kid, and I miss one of my favorite restaurants in the world, in the town I went to college in. Oh, the best bruscetta ever! We don’t have very many Italian places in the city I live in, and while they are good, they just don’t taste as good.

My mother moved in from out of state a few years ago to be closer to my child and I, and eventually, my ex moved out. Now, it’s 3 generations living in our house, and my son will definitely have an interesting upbringing. His father and I get along surprisingly well, and he ends up over here to eat dinner, hang out with our son, take a shower, lie on my couch and watch TV, whatever, several times a week, while I run around taking care of things or go out for a while with my boyfriend. My closest friend lives in the house behind us, so we’re constantly in and out of there, and my ex is close to her husband, so he’s either there or here the majority of his free time. And my mother works days. So, I spend most of the day alone with my son, doing the normal housewife/mom thing, and most afternoons/nights are full of our extended “family” coming and going. My son loves it, and I love he has so many people to love him and help him become the person he will be. It may not be normal, but it’s good for us.

I have to admit that since I became a mother, my wardrobe has taken a noticeable hit. Besides the clothing that hangs there with no real purpose because they don’t quite fit anymore, even the few cute things I’ve bought myself are used only when I go out with friends to eat or to a club. I have decided that sweatpants and t-shirts are the most comfortable items I own, and have bought more of these items than anything else. I don’t mind when apple juice gets spilled on them, and I don’t care about crawling around on the floor, getting them dirty. Before my child, I worried about my appearance, but now, I feel so busy that, Who cares?

Ever wonder what those men wielding swords in the movies practice those techniques wearing off set? They are actually special shoes designed for modern fencing called competitive fencing shoes. Fencing is currently still sport featured in the Olympic Games that is essentially considered a combat-sport. This sport is often practiced with three common types of weapons, a Foil, Epee, and a Sabre. A Foil is a lighter sort of weapon used to aim at the upper torso, an Epee is heavier, with a target of the whole body, and a Sabre is more of a cutting weapon used to aim at the hip.
